In the shadows cast by tech’s great dawn
A silent threat has swiftly spawned,
Geofence warrants, a creeping snare,
A danger lurking everywhere.
Imagine walking through your day,
Innocent steps, just work or play,
Yet all your moves, each path you tread,
Are tracked and logged, your privacy dead.
These warrants, broad, unbound by care,
Circle zones with webs they snare,
Your phone, your life, your secrets shared,
To powers vast, your soul laid bare.
No crime you’ve done, no fault, no wrong,
Yet data drags your name along,
In sweeps so wide, they seize the whole,
Injustice brews, takes its toll.
Your daily route, your stops and starts,
Are pieces of your life and heart,
But in this net, you’re just a clue,
A fragment in a murky view.
The innocent is caught in webs,
Their freedom frayed in countless threads,
For geofence dragnets, broad and blind,
Cannot discern the guilty mind.
With each new step, our freedom fades,
Our lives dissected, roles betrayed,
For once the state has seen it all,
Our rights will crumble, freedoms fall.
Imagine standing in a crowd,
A protest voice, both strong and loud,
Yet fear now binds your spirit tight,
For geofence shadows every right.
These warrants spread a chilling fear,
That every step is tracked and near,
Our private thoughts, our hidden deeds,
Exposed to those with countless creeds.
Innocent movements, twisted, turned,
In data mines where privacies burned,
The danger grows as trust is lost,
In justice's name, at freedom's cost.
So, heed this warning, clear and stark,
Protect your steps, your light and dark,
For geofence warrants, blind and wide,
Threaten all, with no place to hide.
In the balance of power and rights,
We must defend with all our might,
For in the code of privacy,
Lies the essence of liberty. RC
