If you choose to wed, to share your life
With a person as husband or as wife,
Know this truth and hold it dear,
Acceptance must be sincere and clear.
Accept them as they truly are,
With all their quirks, both near and far.
For if you cannot love them whole,
Marriage will take a heavy toll.
Don't enter into vows so grand,
If you can't accept, can't understand.
For a union built on false pretense,
Will crumble soon, lose all defense.
Making love is part of the daily thread,
A woven fabric where hearts are fed.
Intimacy shared, a sacred bond,
Keeps the marriage deep and strong.
But beware the lure of another's embrace,
For it brings discord, a fall from grace.
If love outside your union grows,
It brings with it a tide of woes.
The energies shared with a third will stain,
The bond you’ve built, bring about pain.
Your spouse will feel the hidden rift,
As trust erodes, the heart will drift.
Investigations will then begin,
A life of doubt, a game of spin.
For secrets fester, lies will grow,
Destroying the love you once did know.
It’s not just your partner who will ache,
Your own heart too, will start to break.
For the foundation you created strong,
Will tear apart, the joy gone wrong.
So if you marry, do so with heart,
Accept them fully from the start.
For in acceptance, love will thrive,
A joyous union, truly alive.
If acceptance you cannot find,
Then pause, reflect, and change your mind.
Desire fed by society’s mold,
Can lead to dreams that grow cold.
Seek a love that's deep and true,
Where acceptance binds both me and you.
For in this way, the bond will last,
And love will flourish, unsurpassed.
Accept them as they are, complete,
In this embrace, your hearts will meet.
For a marriage built on honest ground,
Will stand the tests that life has found. RC
